Today Michael Weinstein of the Aids Healthcare Foundation was a guest on the Larry Elder Show. In the interview Michael explained the importance of Assembly Bill 332 passing into law and why mandatory condom usage in adult filming (pornography) throughout the state of California is a Labor Safety (workplace safety) issue.
Michael Weinstein states in the interview:
“In porn real life people are having ACTUAL sex and actually spreading diseases and the audience knows it. In a Hollywood movie for example you’ll see an animal being killed, but that animal isn’t being killed OK – and at the end of that movie you’ll see that ‘no animal was killed in the making of this film’. Well you can’t say that no human was hurt in the making of this porn, because very very large numbers of these performers are getting multiple STDS – so if they digitally want to remove the condom from the porn film we have no objection to that”.
“You can’t dangle 30 stories about the pavement if you’re a construction worker. I also had a alot of factory jobs in my youth where I got paid according to how much I produced, and I didn’t want to wear goggles and gloves because it slowed me down, but we had a foreman who went around on the shop floor reminding us that we had to wear safety equipment – so it’s not up to the employee…”
Michael Weinstein on Employment Law in the United States of America:
“We say that a person who takes a job in this country – we say a person that takes a job should be protected and that they shouldn’t have to make a choice between earning a living and being protected. In the making of as you say of straight Hollywood films there are mitigating requirements for stunt people to protect them. There are all kinds of regulations about young people below a certain age who work on a movie – and it’s heavily regulated.”
In the video above you can listen to clips from the interview today between Michael Weinstein and Larry Elder on the Larry Elder show (and you can listen to the interview in it’s entirety from www.LarryElder.com here). In the video above, there is a clip which follows Michael Weinstein’s interview in which Rob Black ( @RealRobBlack on twitter ) illustrates how in today’s pornography industry, many performers are not aware of their peer’s STD status. Rob Black alleges that HIV positive porn director John Stagliano had physical contact with an unnamed pornstar who was sent to the porn set by Type 9 models (a porn performer talent agency).
***Update: Porn director Rob Black has posted what appear to be photographic evidence of his allegations of HIV positive porn director John Stagliano having physical contact with a porn actress (the actress named is Kelly Divine – who is represented by Mark Spiegler) in an adult/xxx scene (without utilizing barrier protection) – click here to view (NSFW).
